Installing Preen Landscape Fabrics

If existing plants are taller than 3 feet, cut Preen Landscape Fabric to the edge and slide around the base of the plant.

Cut x's for plant placement

If smaller plants are present, lay Preen Landscape Fabric on top of the plants and cut an x or circle over each plant and gently push fabric over the top, down to the soil.

Anchor edges and seams   Anchor edges and seams with fabric pins.  Apply 2” to 3” of mulch or stone, deep enough to cover fabric.  (Fabric will not withstand UV rays alone and must be covered to prevent degradation.)

Preen Weed Control Program

Preen Landscape Fabric stops weeds from growing beneath the fabric. Over time the mulch or soil placed on top of the fabric may become an ideal site for weeds.

If Applying Mulch on Top of Fabric:
First install the Preen Landscape Fabric.  Then either apply Preen Mulch Plus to prevent weeds for 6 months or apply regular mulch and Preen Garden Weed Preventer, Preen Weed Preventer with Brilliant Blooms Fertilizer, or Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer

If Applying Soil on Top of Fabric:
First install the Preen Landscape Fabric.  Then top with soil.  To prevent weeds for up to 3 months use Preen Garden Weed Preventer or Preen Weed Preventer with Brilliant Blooms Fertilizer.  For vegetable gardens or areas where an organic weed preventer is desired, use Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer to prevent weeds for 4 to 6 weeks.
