Preen Lawn STEPSAVER Weed Control Plus Fertilizer replaces Steps
1 and 2 of a 4 Step Program.
- With a traditional 4 step program, there should be 6 weeks between
the application of steps 1 and 2 in order to spread the fertilizer
applications apart and avoid excess growth. This requires the
crabgrass preventer to be applied too early in the season, so
that it fizzles out and misses late emerging crabgrass. Step 2
is applied too late, well after the dandelions and other weeds
have flowered and produced thousands of seeds for a new crop of
weeds.
