Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer can be used with mulch.

• If you are top dressing 1 to 2 inches of mulch over existing mulch, apply Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer before you add the new mulch.

• If you are mulching 2 to 3 inches for the first time over bare soil, it is preferable to apply Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer to the soil first. If weeds appear, it is likely that there were weed seeds in the mulch. In this case, remove these existing weeds, apply Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer, and water or rake into the top layer of mulch. Another option would be to apply Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer to the bare soil and to the top of the mulch at time you apply the mulch.

• If you have already mulched, Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer will still be effective if applied on top of the mulch. Simply sprinkle Preen Vegetable Garden Weed Preventer on the mulch and then water or lightly rake it into the top layer.

• Reapplication should be done every 4 to 6 weeks.
