Application
How to Apply
Prior to applying Preen New Lawn Crabgrass Preventer plus Seed Starter Fertilizer, rake the lawn to remove leaves and other debris.
On newly-seeded areas, apply at the rate of 2.5 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft. (12.5 lb bag covers 2,500 sq. ft.). For best results, it is recommended you apply the crabgrass preventer after the first or second mowing in the spring, before crabgrass and other annual grass weeds emerge. To encourage appropriate spreading, apply with a fertilizer spreader and water treated area thoroughly if it does not rain within three days of application. In fact, timing application just ahead of a predicted rain is ideal.
