Dusky green, narrowly oval leaves and daisy-like flowers are typical of the aster family. Narrow, upright growth habit. 3 to 5 ft. tall. Flowers have up to 150 narrow petals and close up at night. Plants start as a rosette in early spring. Its pointed leaves with serrated edges can grow up to 5 inches long. Prefers dry, open areas.
