Leaf Type: Grassy

Flowers: Large, loose panicle

Leaves: Linear leaves with smooth edges; no hair

Life Cycle: Annual

A coarse, upright plant somewhat resembling field corn. Leaves are 3 to 4 inches wide. Stems may be spotted with purple. Seedheads are dense and stiffly upright. Grows up to 6 ft. Tolerates heat and drought.
